School has broken my property?

My sons school wanted to display two of my ornaments (they're not worth much but they were souvenirs from africa and india).I have found out this morning that one has been broken by the teacher and the other has gone missing.I have to go in later today and sort it out.Would you want more than an apology for this? I'm not sure what i should be asking for.
