My dad thought I wanted a crochet hook needle for an abortion?

My dad is going to the store and a few days ago I told him I needed a crochet hook needle. He didn't question it until he accidentally forgot it and then I told him to find one today. He wakes me up rather early and strictly asks me why I needed this crochet hook needle. At first I didn't even think I needed to tell him, because it's just a crochet hook needle, it's not a big deal. I told him I needed it for dreading my hair, and dreading my friends hair. He said "Are you sure that you don't need to seek medical help? Kids back in the 40's used to use clothes hangers to abort babies. You're not pregnant, are you?" I got really upset that he umed this and explained to him why I needed the crochet needle. But he still doesn't believe me?
